Free Football For All Children Initiative
The West Lothian Community Foundation are delighted to announce our new ‘Free Football for All Children’ initiative. Thanks to funding from the Bank of Scotland Foundation’s funding programme Reach, all of our Mini Kickers, Fun Football and Inventive Play community children’s sessions will be free of charge between January and June!
We understand that the cost of living cirisis is making things very tough for families and we want to make sure that football doesn’t become an unaffordable activity for children. We are aiming to break down that barrier of cost to participation. Football has huge benefits for children increasing their confidence, learning new skills and staying active among many others and this should be accesible to every child.
These sessions are for children aged 3-12 years, boys and girls, and take place during the school terms at various locations in West Lothian.
Our ambition is to extend our Free Football for All Children programme as far as possible in terms of the numbers of children we are able to engage with and also the length of time we can keep it going. The current funding will run until June but we are hopeful we can extend past this.
We also appreciate that some families will be able to still afford all or part of the cost for football sessions. We are therefore accepting donations of whatever people can afford and these donations will go directly towards funding additional places or adding new sessions to reach more children who can’t afford them. Donations are welcomed from anyone, parents, grandparents, aunties, neighbours, friends or members of the general public who just want to support the initiative. Wednesdays – Linlithgow Academy 4.15pm-5pm
Fridays – Winchburgh Community Sport Hub 3pm-3.45pm
Saturdays – Deans Community High School 10.45am-11.30am
Fun Football 5-6 years and Inventive Play 7-12 years
Tuesdays – Livingston FC 4.30pm-5.30pm
Wednesdays – Linlithgow Academy 5pm-6pm
Thursdays – Livingston FC 4.30pm-5.30pm
Fridays – Winchburgh Community Sports Hub 3.45pm-4.45pm
Saturdays – Deans Community High School 9.30am-10.30am
Goalkeeping 8-12 years
Thursdays – Livingston FC 4.45pm-5.45pm

Places are, of course, limited but we will look to accommodate as many children as possible. Where we receive donations and additional funding towards the programme, we will extend the number of free places available.
